New learning
Teacher’s learning must be connected to the identified needs of the student. The scanning process will have gathered information that you may have managed to focus down to some key concepts and examined your own hunches about what you are already doing. This process will allow you to examine your own hunches about what you are already doing.
Example new learning
Joe’s teacher completed the two-day Tilting the Seesaw for Teams course and was buzzing with ideas. The course had confirmed to him that his knowledge of autism was limited. The teacher was also interested in exploring ways to include Joe into the class more and how to talk to Joe about autism. Joe’s parents had been on the course with the teacher and they were also keen to start talking to Joe about autism without bombarding him.
Joe’s teacher set up a meeting for the following week to allow them all to reflect on their new learning.
