Checking

Checking
Have we made enough of a difference?
We need to go back to the same people we started with to see if things have changed significantly enough for the student.
Sometimes asking a less focussed question might bring up surprising results.
Example checking
Joe’s teacher sent out an email to the team who had been supporting the process to find out if things had changed. He worded it “Hey team, its two months now since we did Tilting the Seesaw for Teams. Have you noticed any changes in that time? Please email me.”
He was expecting to see that they would report that Joe was in less trouble at school but amongst the emails was one from Joe’s parents. Joes mum said that Joe was a different boy going to school in the morning now. Before the workshop every morning was a nightmare but now he looks forward to group work where he says, “I’m in charge”!
