Jo Charman
Jo joined Autism NZ in 2011. The mother of 2 ( one of who is autistic) is a dynamic presenter and facilitator. She is passionate about promoting strength based approaches with the individuals, whanau, Kaiako and clinicians she works with.
Her mahi in schools and early childhood settings is focused on coaching and promoting the value of quality interpersonal engagement for autistic children and the importance learning through joyous play.
Josie Glamuzina
Ko Josie Glamuzina toku ingoa. I am a National Educator for Autism NZ and love being part of the Way to Play team. I am also an Early Years teacher and I have spent many years working in a variety of settings in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom. I developed my passion for supporting autistic children and their families when working in a school and an education support service in London. I have a son who received a diagnosis of autism/adhd at the age of 6. I offer a professional and personal perspective to my mahi with our Autistic tamariki and feel lucky to be working with such an amazing team of people.
Penny Warren
Penny is a fully registered teacher, and has taught in Kindergarten classes for over 14 years. She joined Autism New Zealand in early 2023. Penny is passionate about advocating for Autistic Tamariki in ECE and Schools around Aotearoa using her professional knowledge, and her lived experience, to support those living within our Autistic community.
Tanya Blakey
Tanya has two teenage daughters, one of whom is Autistic. Tanya has been jointly involved developing Autism New Zealand's education programmes and enjoys travelling the country presenting them with unique lived experience and humour since 2011.
