06. Social Groups
Autism New Zealand’s – The Connection Club, Young Adult Social Group
The Connection Club is a facilitated social group for autistic and neurodivergent young adults (18–34), including those who are self-identified, exploring diagnosis, or on a waitlist. We also welcome people with co-occurring conditions such as Autism and ADHD. It’s a relaxed, judgment-free space to connect with others who share similar experiences and interests, and feel comfortable being your authentic self. Each session includes flexible activities e.g. casual conversation, boardgames, quizzes, and we encourage parallel play (bringing along a hobby or something you enjoy doing while around others). You can join in as much or as little as you like.
The group is best suited for people who feel comfortable participating with general guidance rather than one-to-one support. If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, we’re happy to chat about your needs and explore other groups that may suit you better.
Meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday, Monthly, 6pm – 8pm in Mount Eden.
