Autism New Zealand to host low sensory vaccination events at Autism Resource Centre

Autism NZ is proud to again be hosting low sensory vaccination events at our resource centre in Petone in conjunction with the local DHB. All individuals aged 5-11, those with high support needs and their families will be able to receive their COVID-19 vaccination in our purpose-built space, with extended appointment times and support.
WHEN:
FIRST DOSE/BOOSTER CLINICS:
Saturday 12th Feb 9- 4pm
Saturday 19th Feb 9- 4pm
Saturday 26th Feb 9- 4pm
SECOND DOSE/BOOSTER CLINICS:
Saturday 9th April 9- 4pm
Saturday 16th April 9- 4pm
Saturday 23rd April 9- 4pm
WHERE: Autism Resource Centre, 20 Sydney St, Petone, Lower Hutt
WHO: Anyone who is eligible for a vaccination – those aged 5-11, those who need boosters and anyone else who would benefit from a supportive vaccination environment (low sensory, longer appointment times, Autism NZ staff present). Parents, caregivers and whānau of autistic people can also be vaccinated at these events.

Please note that bookings are required for all family members, including those aged 5-11.
At the Autism NZ vaccination event, we will provide:
– Extended appointment times
– Assistance on the day
– Quiet spaces and sensory tools
– Social stories and autism-specific information
– Clear signs and instructions to make your visit as simple as possible
