Drawing from research, technical knowledge, and lived experience, a new evidence-based website has just been launched: the Autism Housing Toolkit Aotearoa.
The resource offers free, practical, and evidence-based advice for how to modify or build your home to suit the sensory and support needs of autistic people (tāngata whaitakiwātanga) in your household.
Whether renting, flatting, owning, or building from scratch, the toolkits offer tips to suit every budget and living arrangement.
Co-led by researcher Marita Broadstock (INSIGHT Research) and autistic accessibility consultant Beth Noble (Access Insights), this mahi is supported by an Access Activator grant from Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People.
